Where I'm standing: As someone who designs narrative systems and writes interactive fiction, I look closely at how jam entries leverage limited scopes to build an immersive emotional state. Virus Protocol enters the space using an immediate, high-concept framework—combining technological isolation, systemic contamination, and tight sci-fi survival dread. That structural choice shapes my entire reading of the project.

Immersion

The game uses its digital architecture and sci-fi isolation to fit the constraints of the jam naturally. Rather than treating the interface as a superficial coat of paint, the terminal and data-driven environment function as both a physical containment space and a platform for escalating narrative tension, making the system an active participant in the psychological spiral.

Player Experience

Mechanically direct and functional, keeping interactive friction low so the focus stays squarely on the mood. System interactions and status management are straightforward; while they serve the narrative arc well without overstaying their welcome, the loop remains fairly linear and light on deep systemic depth.

Cohesion & Craft

Visually and aurally unified. The technical, utilitarian aesthetic fits the atmospheric sci-fi mandate like a glove, keeping visual clutter low while preserving a moody, grounded grit. Combined with strong interface design and systemic feedback, it does the heavy lifting to keep the player on edge.

Theme (HOME)

The game interprets the theme through the lens of a threatened sanctuary—a digital or physical habitat under siege where "home" is something to protect, quarantine, or fight to preserve. Rather than treating the concept as a literal domestic space, it weaves the idea of a compromised refuge into the core survival loop, making the environment an active witness to what is bei

ng lost.

I really like this even if this is it's 1st version, the only thing I gripe a bout is that pressing stealth while move or attacking does not transfer at all, required to stand still. Also errors on buildings and base skins are not loading when it lagged on mobile

This is pretty fun and I'm excited for future versions.

So, what's the endgame?  I can't take in anymore survivors, I've maxed out most of the buildings, and I'm walking through the expeditions.  It's a fun little game, but is there a final goal?

The game is currently in active development. Future versions will include more content and introduce a final objective.

Cool cool, I'll keep an eye out for updates
